What is KER?

Kids Education Revolution (KER), placed under the innovation cell at Teach For India, is a movement that reimagines education by fostering partnerships between students and educators to create a more student-centered and equitable learning experience. Grounded in principles of student voice, collaboration, and changemaking, KER empowers children with 21st-century skills like critical thinking, creativity, and compassion. Through summits, workshops, and initiatives, KER builds safe spaces for dialogue and leadership, enabling young people to drive meaningful change in education.

India & I Studies is a curriculum designed by educators to help students develop 21st-century skills and embody constitutional values for nation-building. Rooted in five thematic units—Self, Family & School, Community, Nation, and the World—it fosters awareness of fundamental rights, duties, and India's rich history while integrating Liberty, Justice, Equality, and Fraternity. The curriculum uses a blended learning approach, making lessons adaptable for diverse learning styles in both physical and virtual classrooms.

The 8C's book:

During my time at KER, Teach For India was celebrating its 15th anniversary in November 2024. I had the opportunity to illustrate their first published children's book, On the Path – Adventures of the 8C’s. The story follows eight inspiring TFI alumni, each representing one of the 8C’s—Mr. Curiosity, Ms. Communication, Mr. Consciousness, Ms. Courage, Mr. Compassion, Ms. Collaboration, Mr. Creativity, and Ms. Critical Thinking. Through their journey, the book helps children understand how simple actions and habits can help them develop these essential skills. Here are some snippets from the book:
